More people have landed jobs in London and region over the last 12 months, but the unemployment rate nudged up last month as the population and workforce grew faster, new figures show.
The London area’s unemployment rate rose slightly in September, ending a two-month stretch of improving figures.
"We're not seeing growth. . . . These are very small changes, and so everything is just in a holding pattern," said an economics professor.
After three straight months of increases, the London area’s jobless rate dropped last month – but it’s not clear if more people have found work or simply gave up on their job search.
