NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh visited London and Oxford County on Friday. A byelection set for June 19 in Oxford has already been marked by controversy over how the Conservative party chose its candidate – leading to the resignation of local party officials. In Ottawa meanwhile, Singh has pushed for a public inquiry into foreign interference in Canadian politics. Earlier this week, he wrote a letter to Justin Trudeau asking for clearance for two members of staff to be briefed on the findings of special rapporteur David Johnston. Singh’s letter also asked to be briefed on how much he could say publicly after the intelligence briefings.
